Description
The short kaolin clay pipe favoured by working men was called a 'cutty'. Being made of brittle kaolin clay, the stems broke easily.
This pipe is a Burns Cutty pattern tobacco smoking pipe. It is broken in two places, has a plain bowl with no spur, and a short stem which flares at mouth piece. On the stem are the words: 'BURNS CUTTY' and 'DAVIDSON, GLASGOW'.
